Calabash Lab is a family-run RC car shop based in Auckland, New Zealand — run by a small crew of tinkerers and one very fast dog.
It started with a simple frustration: most RC cars sold online are either junk that breaks in a week, or they take three weeks to arrive from overseas. So we started Calabash Lab — a small shop that does it differently.
How we sell is simple. You'll find our stall at local markets around Auckland — dates vary from weekend to weekend, so check our socials to find this weekend's spot. Between markets, we sell from home: text or email us a photo of what you're after and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. And an online store is on the way, so you'll soon be able to order with one click.
Whatever you buy from us comes with one promise: we only stock cars we'd be happy to own ourselves. Every model is hand-picked, checked before sale, and backed by real people you can actually talk to.
No faceless corporation here — meet the crew behind the table.
Boush the Tinker
The Tech Man · After-Sales
Every car gets a full workbench inspection from Boush before it earns a spot in the range — motor, gears, battery, the lot. He's also our after-sales guy: repairs, spare parts and honest advice whenever you need them.
Orianna, the Lady of Clockwork
Sourcing & Operations
Orianna hunts down the cars that make the cut — weighing build quality, looks and value for money, and picking only what genuinely suits NZ drivers and backyards.
Baja
The Examiner
Our Australian Cattle Dog and the toughest critic on the team. Baja chase-tests every model — and occasionally gets a bite in. If a car survives Baja, it survives your backyard. Buy with confidence.
